Coach “Joe” Bartos brings nearly 40 years of high-level tennis playing and coaching experience to the Tiburón community. Joe comes to us from Pelican Bay. He started his tennis career as a top ranked Junior, completed four very successful years of varsity intercollegiate play; and helped train and manage the training facilities of some of the biggest names in the world of tennis, including Vitas Gerulaites, Fred Stolle, and Roy Emerson. His passion and knowledge of the sport is perfectly balanced with a deft and artful “coaching” style that inevitably brings out the very best game in the youthful and mature beginner, seasoned player, and all levels in between. His team coaching is highly prized for its blend of tennis strategy, court awareness, and teamwork drills and exercises.
